Sunday morning thoughts
This isn't your typical blog post. I was watching the Tab Choir broadcast this morning and they played an organ solo called "Nimrod" from the Enigma Variations (by Edwin Elgar). The composer wrote 14 pieces that represented the traits of some of his friends or acquaintenances and tried to incorporate aspects of their personalities into the music. I found this video on YouTube and if you're interested, you can read about his 14 friends here. I've heard No. 9 (video below) before and found it very moving and beautiful. He intended it to be an interpretation of a walk he and his friend took walking through the woods discussing Beethoven. I picture walking through some of our New England woods and it brings back a lot of memories.

I very much like it when we act like grown ups. I loved this piece. Very thoughtful and nice on this rainy quiet morning of mine.
I like the representation of his friends. Makes me wonder who I would choose if I was doing the same.
Nice post, brother.
Hey, did you notice that friend number 7 is "Troyte, an architect"?
