Anna had her yearly violin recital this morning. It was my job to notify my parents and I forgot. (It was a really busy week with a lot going on at work....which is good, let me tell you!) And since Becky's parents are in Boston on their mission, I'm posting this for the grandparents.
Anna is all about SPEED....the faster she plays, the sooner she is done. I think sometimes she practices so fast, like Superman flying around the world, she makes time speed up, and thus, her practice time is over sooner. You'll also notice in the video that she is wearing her watch. Its an old ragged watch that Becky pleads with her not to wear. When she came downstairs wearing it this morning, she promised Becky that she would take it off before she went up to play at the recital. As you can see in the video, the watch remained one of her accessories.
Also, a few weeks ago I fulfilled my promise to Anna that we would go to Lagoon sometime this year. All year, whenever the issue came up, I made the case that it would be too hot and crowded and it wouldn't be any fun. The day we went, it was a bit overcast and a few light showers, so it certainly wasn't hot but because of the light rain, it wasn't too crowded early in the day. We were able to ride almost all of the rides in about 2 hours. But as the day went on, it became more and more crowded and each ride was a 1/2-hour+ wait each time. We were glad we went early and got a lot of riding in at the beginning.
Below are a few shots of our day. Anna's favorite rides were the swings and Colossus (which we rode once about 5 times in a row....without waiting.) I also included the photo of the Flying Aces because we were chastised on the loudspeaker by the ride attendant who forbid any "bouncing" of the aircraft. We were in the aircraft labelled "Duncan's Hellfire". If you caught too much air on the uptake, it would make the ride arm bounce up and down out of sync with the other arms. I thought I was just really good at catching air on the uptake and getting some good draft. Anna was a bit disconcerted when she kept hearing, "Duncan's Hellfire....do not bounce the aircraft!" over the loudspeaker.
