Prom King

Daniel is going to his first Prom tonight and he looks quite dashing if you ask me. I made the mistake of suggesting it wasn't necessary to try on the tie this morning after picking up the tux, and as luck would have it, the shirt was too tight around the neck. Since its now too late to do anything about it, he will have a very tight shirt and tie around his neck for the evening.  It was pouring rain today, so their day activity (a hike) was changed to wallyball at the Rec Center.

He was a little nervous about driving, so we drove down to Salt Lake on Thursday evening to practice the route, driving into the parking garages at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (they will be eating at The Roof) and at the Hilton (where the Prom is being held).  He did OK for his first time driving in downtown Salt Lake.  We reviewed it on the map before he left and I think he is in good shape.  But a father can still be worried, can't he?  I have a feeling I will be up late tonight.

UPDATE: The best laid plans always go awry! After having carefully plotted out the route, he just called to say that the JSMB parking lot was full and he was left to try and find parking in a very underparked downtown. I can only pray at this point.

Well, I hope it was a success. He did look very handsome . . . but what is with the no trying things on? I seem to recall something about a too small scout shirt for some significant scouting event? Maybe his Eagle Court of Honor??
