Well, all of my persistence in making Daniel go back weekly to talk to the grocery store managers paid off! He is now officially an employee of Dick's Market in the Bakery Department. His job will be to wash pans and sweep! How ironic, since he takes FOREVER to sweep the kitchen and dining room. We've been giving him a hard time about how much effort he puts into it and that he needs to just "get it done". Here's hoping they have lots of leftover donuts they want to get rid of after his shifts end!

We have a donut-sweeper in the family!

One of my best friends in high school worked in the Albertson's bakery. She would happily pump our custard filled donuts extra full for us . . . I hope Daniel moves up soon so he can take such liberties.
It brings me great joy to know that bakery jobs now run in the family - for I, too, worked as a bakery sweep and custard filler for several years. Way to go Daniel! You make an aunt proud!
Good job Daniel! Troy - I also read about your previous jobs and love the story about how you met Becky. How sweet! I didn't ever work in a bakery, but the summer after my senior year I worked at McDonald's. Greasiest job I ever had....
Daniel keep up the good work. I started out with the same job. I cleaned pans, scraped floors, and overall messy jobs. I worked at Joe's Home Bakery. We had to scrape the raisins off the floor and put them in a special barrel. Then as I was later told they used it for the filling in "bear claws" uck!!!!
You are following in my foorsteps, but I hope it leads to more that I got in life.
